How to Apply
We are not a member of the Pupillage Gateway System.
All applications for a 12 month pupillage must be on our standard application form. The application form asks you to provide information which will help us identify the very best applicants. We expect to receive over 100 applications, and we will shortlist around 16 people for interview. The application form gives you an opportunity to shine and to persuade us that you have the potential to succeed at the commercial Bar.
The form can be downloaded the website prior to the deadline (or obtained from Ms Claudia Dine in chambers at firstname.lastname@example.org) and may be submitted either online or by email to email@example.com or in hard copy marked for the attention of Ms Dine. The form must be received in chambers no later than 4pm on Friday, 12 January 2018 for pupillage commencing in October 2019. Applications will not be accepted by fax.
Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of their application forms assessed on the basis of our selection criteria (see Who is Suitable). We aim to let candidates know by email by Wednesday, 24th January 2018 if they have been shortlisted for interview.
We will ask candidates who are shortlisted for interview to provide two references, at least one of which must be from an academic lawyer, unless it is impracticable to obtain such a reference. A copy of our standard form letter to referees is attached to the application form, which we ask candidates to deliver to their chosen referees. References should be provided to us as soon as possible, and in any event by 4pm on Friday, 2nd February 2018.
Short-listed candidates will be invited to Chambers for a first round interview to be held on Monday, 5th and Tuesday, 6th February 2018. Some candidates will be invited for second round interviews on Friday, 9th February 2018, and offers to successful candidates will be made shortly thereafter.
We are committed to equal opportunities and diversity and aim to select candidates for both pupillage and tenancy solely on merit irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
We will consider any reasonable adjustments needed to ensure that you can participate in our selection process fairly.
